Speaking of V, I just happened to catch the "re-imagining" of V on ABC. So far, it's kind of eh. As I told right, it felt much more rushed than the original, which had a nice TV-movie-sized block to fill. For a pilot of a weekly series, this one had too much exposition to cram into an hour. It also feels doubly derivative: the "rebel teenager" character even mentions the resemblance to Independence Day, which itself borrow from V.

Oh well, Tuesdays are one of my off nights, so I may actually tune in. At least Elizabeth Mitchell has gotten work while LOST is on hiatus, and nice to see Morena Baccarin and Alan Tudyk from "Firefly" working together too.

I accept that I'm going to wake up most days with a random song playing in my head. So why on Earth was today's the theme song to "Diff'rent Strokes"?

I almost never watch "The Office", which I know everyone says is supposed to be great. So how come both times I've remembered to turn it on lately, it's been the same episode: Where the go to Scranton and Steve Carrell just wants to throw a big party in his hotel room.

"I hope that's urine."

Why did I watch the replay of Jericho last night? I should have known it was going to freak me out. It's a good thing it's on Wednesday nights, when I have GVO rehearsals. In any case, I don't have time or energy for another ensemble-cast serial show.

All I wanted to do afterwards was walk around the city, maybe patronize a business or two, just to reassure myself it was just a TV show and there were still people around. Which I did, except for the patronizing part. Except for bars, there are surprisingly few places in Mt. Vernon open past 10:00. I talked to Jamie for a while before going to bed after 1 AM.

Now, it probably isn't related to the TV watching, but I must have gotten up three times during the night to pee, the third of which was before 7:00. After that, I couldn't get to back to sleep because I was thinking about the show. I putzed around here for a while before getting breakfast at the farmers' market. I suppose I could have gone back to shul, but I've never in recent memory gone to services on the second day of Rosh Hashana, so why start now?

Maybe I can grab a nap this afternoon, since I won't be going over to Dad's to mooch dinner tonight. They're in England until next Wednesday. Oh yeah, I should also finalize my fantasy football line-up, since it looks like most of the players are done being injured.

20 minutes to go until Lost starts, and I somehow managed to fuck up my VCR's video head. I'm seriously considering skipping the rehearsal tonight, but I can't fight my unwavering dedication. At least the VCR was no great loss; it is probably 10 years old and I got it free from my dad.
