This is kind of a timely question... Jamie and I were just watching The West Wing and commenting that Roger Rees might make a good Doctor. He certainly had the eccentric thing down when playing Lord John Marbury on The West Wing, and he's even Welsh! (Most of Doctor Who is filmed in Wales.)

Look at these pictures and tell me he wouldn't make a good Doctor!

I think they should just leave Tennant there. Even if he doesn't wanna. :P I'm going to start getting separation anxiety for Doctor Who. :P

I still do think that Rees would be a good Doctor. I'm apprehensive about this new kid.

I'm not crazy about their choice, either, but every Doctor's tenure must end, and it's always been a good thing for the show.

I would if the link worked. :) I actually remember him best from Robin Hood: Men in Tights, so at least we know he has a sense of humor. :)

Sorry, yes, the picture. Not showing up for me.

IMDb probably doesn't like my hot-linking to their photo gallery. I should just edit the post or something.

Ah, see, and I shall always think of him as Robin Colcord from Cheers.

Sweet recall! He was crazy on that show, too.

More awesome as John Marbury, though. Oh, man.

Anyway, yeah, he'd probably be quite a good Doctor.

Ah, yes, I'd forgotten about that. He was quite good in that. :)

See I'm more apprehensive of HOW the Doctor will die/regenerate personally. Because I can always stop watching the show, but it's knowing how it ends for the Tenth that is making me nervous.

My dream episode would be that the episode starts like any usual Tenth Doctor episode, people in danger, running, him in his TARDIS so on and so forth. Then he runs into Eleven, and from that point of the episode forward? It's all from Eleven's POV. Like Eleven walks away and the camera follows him instead of Ten, so that it's more of a passing of the torch and there is no death that we know of yet and he can be out there having more adventures.

Of course Moffat/RTD will want to make Tennant cry one more time so I doubt that will happen.

Because I can always stop watching the show

*snerk*

You're suggesting he runs into himself, like while time-travelling? Isn't that one of those impossible things?

I could stop watching, I mean I stopped watching Prison Break, stopped watching Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty, lots of shows I've stopped watching cause I just didn't like them anymore.

It's not impossible, I mean they've done it before on prior series, and heck 10 met 5. It's more or less just one of those things that they have to be careful about what sort of stuff they tell the other.

Haaa! I might love and adore it but the joy of a show about time travelers is that I know there was a lot more we don't get to see, so I'm happy having it end wherever I want it to. I mean there are still two more specials, and Torchwood left. I'll be fine if they muck up the series.
