Freaking Verizon
Mar. 3rd, 2004 09:57 amVerizon decided to cut off my home phone sometime during the night of the 2nd. Stupid me thought it was just the DSL that wasn't working, so I let it go while I went to work yesterday. I get home and it still isn't working. After re-configuring a bunch of things, then trying the modem and my Earthlink account, I decide to call tech support. I pick up the phone, and whoopee, no dial tone. If only I'd thought of that yesterday morning...
Verizon's tech support says to check some network box that I've as yet been unable to find. Nor do I feel like risking screwing up the phone lines of everyone else in the building. I submitted a repair request, but I hope it doesn't mean I'm going to have to stay home tomorrow and wait for a guy to show up. Maybe I can get the gas company to send someone out tomorrow as well.
