I don't post news/political story commentary enough, and this one was just too good to pass up: "Holiday" Cards Ring Hollow for Some on Bush's List
What's missing from the White House Christmas card? Christmas.

This month, as in every December since he took office, President Bush sent out cards with a generic end-of-the-year message, wishing 1.4 million of his close friends and supporters a happy "holiday season."

[...]"This clearly demonstrates that the Bush administration has suffered a loss of will and that they have capitulated to the worst elements in our culture," said William A. Donohue, president of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights.

[...]"Ninety-six percent of Americans celebrate Christmas," Donohue said. "Spare me the diversity lecture."

There just aren't enough ::rolleyes:: for these people. I'm sending this their way, see if it'll help:

Also, thank you to Kyla for this post and its apt Jon Stewart quote.

The "War on Christmas" bit is a completely ginned-up controversy, and its purpose is to give the O'Reillys and Dobsons of the world one more excuse to throw darts at Them Immoral Libruls.

Gotta wonder that they don't have *something* more important to bitch about. I take this as a sign that liberalism must be in better shape than it looks, if this is the sort of thing the conservative crusaders have got to resort to.

And it IS amusing that Bush's Christmas card got caught up in the dragnet.
