Yep, another entry where I talk about the weekend and a concert. Several, actually, because between dress rehearsal Thursday and Saturday night, I fit in a trip to the Baltimore Symphony to hear Mahler's 4th Symphony and Beethoven's 4th Piano Concerto. After the concert, I was walking past the stage door and ran into Ed, one of the second violinists whom I knew from the Philharmonia. He & I talked a little bit about that orchestra and he said he didn't blame me for feeling as fed up with it as I did.

Saturday I decided to be lazy again and not get up for my running club. I'm so terrible. =( I just did some errands instead, like laundry, and walking over to An Die Musik to discover that the CDs I ordered back at Easter still aren't in yet. [info]Leah came with me to Columbia for the concert, and apparently she had a great time. Everyone was trying to recruit her to play, but she's has no spare time. =) The concert seemed to go really well, too. The soloists, a baritone and soprano, did songs from Les Miz and Phantom, and judging from the standing ovations, the audience really liked them. Watching Jason do his "rock star" thing singing the Beatles songs was great, especially him forgetting a verse of "When I'm Sixty-Four". I saw my friend Jacky from the Philharmonia afterwards, who told me she's definitely going to join next year. We met up with Anna, from Purim, and we went with the 30 or so other people over to Rocky Run for food. I think I was just too exhausted for scintillating conversation.

More of the same as last Sunday yesterday, minus me being late to rehearsal. We read the second half of the opera/ballet, and I'm really feeling better about the music (less scared, at least). Katie got to sit in as "concertmaster", since the regular was out for some reason. Then, tonight, it's back to the school again, this time for a read-through of Brahms #1.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot, I got to sit first stand on Saturday! The person I was replacing wasn't as sick, I was told, but decided not to play because she'd missed too many rehearsals. So I wonder where I'll be sitting tonight? =)

I started to get "All You Need is Love" stuck in my head too. Thanks, jerk! But then it turned into "Elephant Love Medley" from Moulin Rouge!. Ha, I have defeated you!

I don't remember elephants, but then, it's been a long time since I saw that movie, and I wasn't really paying attention anyway.
