Yes, I'm Alive
Dec. 29th, 2004 10:22 amNot that there was much doubt as to whether or not I was alive, I've just been without computer access since Sunday night. I went home to Pennsylvania Christmas Day, and then Mom & I drove to eastern PA to see my uncle and family, who had driven in from Boston. I had Internet access at home, as Mom recently joined the 21st century by splurging on a broadband connection. No such luck at the hotel, of course, mostly since I don't own a laptop. =P
Anyway, I had a good time visiting with Mom, and my uncle and family. I hadn't seen my cousins in probably ten years, and they're both teenagers now, almost. They didn't really remember meeting me last time, but that's understandable. My uncle and aunt are about the same as always.
I wish things had been going slightly better for me now, though. I'm still sick with a cold. I haven't taken the car in to get fixed yet, mostly because I'm trying to put off forking over the $500. Friday night I was going to bake a casserole and then some cookies, only to discover that my oven had quit working. No gas smell, no hiss, nothing, but the stovetop still works. Funny that I can weeks without baking something, but the one time I need it, it quits working. And it seems that the maintenance people have no idea if they can even find someone to look at it, let alone when it might get fixed. So I baked my mac & cheese casserole over at Dayna's place instead. She's a little under the weather too, but I think we'll both be well enough to make an appearance at Opal's party on Saturday.
