Concert & Dope-fest
Dec. 13th, 2004 09:58 amIt's going to be a pretty busy week for me, so I may not have much time for a big update. Although, my boss is away this week. I shouldn't be busy! Anyway, it was a pretty full weekend for me, again. Saturday was the party over at
Ginger and
Dave's place. Thanks to them for hosting and making all that great food (mmmm... brined turkey)! I know things were up in the air for a while until James was born, but I'm glad they hosted, and that there was a good turn-out. I brought my menorah (chanukiah, actually), and Scuba_Ben and Agent Foxtrot and I got to do the Jewish thing. We talked a lot with
gobear and almost took him out back to "convert him." =) It was also good to see
nyctea and
opalcat, since I hadn't seen them in months, and Opal is leaving town next month. Unfortunately, I really look like hell in those pictures. =(
Sunday, like last week, I had a rehearsal for Nutcracker. Then, I had to drive all the way out there, then run back to the other side of town for the second BPO concert. I made it, but it wasn't fun. The concert just wasn't as "tight" as last week's, but that's probably because the church is pretty boomy and no one watches the conductor anyway. Then, in the middle of the concert, I noticed one of the pieces was missing from my folder! I had gone to Kinko's Saturday morning to copy some of it and one of them must have fallen out! Luckily the guy in the stand behind me had a copy for us, otherwise my stand partner and I'd have been screwed.
Anyway, Dayna and my dad came to the concert, so the three of us drove back into town and went out for some good Japanese food. I had this huge plate of udon noodles with sushi and seaweed salad appetizers. Then I called the Kinko's downtown to make sure they had the sheet music there, which they did. Only problem is, I had to turn in the folder at the concert, and my part was still missing. So I'll probably be getting a call from the manager asking where it is. That's probably enough of an update for now. I have rehearsal tonight in Columbia, dress for Nutcracker is Thursday, and the three shows are this weekend. Wonder if I'll get any time to shop for anybody?
