So what is my incentive to show up for every rehearsal and work my ass off on the music, when a whole cadre of people are going to come only for the dress rehearsal and sightread, then call me "unprofessional"?
This woman plopped down next to me (when I hadn't had a stand partner for about 4 rehearsals), acting like she'd been there the whole time. She marked up all kinds of stuff in the music like circling rests and repeats. She asked why no one had marked it, and I told her I didn't need to. Because, as you know, I can read music. Me not marking the music for her was what drew the "unprofessional" comment.
I might have taken her seriously, if she'd maybe uncrossed her legs any of the entire time she was playing.
