Dec. 21st, 2003 11:24 amIt turned out to not be as busy a weekend as I was afraid it would. I had a Shabbat dinner to go to Friday night, but fortunately I didn't have to help Stacey's sister move on Saturday. I guess they didn't need my help (or my truck) since I didn't hear from them. It worked out better for me because I actually had time to go and buy presents for a few people. My friend D. was having an impromptu Chanukah/birthday party for herself last night, so I went to give her her present. She's a fellow Jewish engineer, so it was much swapping of family and work stories. She also made a cake while we were trying to watch Moulin Rouge, which made it a little harded to follow in the beginning. I picked up enough of it eventually. After sampling the cake, D. & I stayed up late talking, outlasting even her roommate. I think he suspects that I have a crush on D., but as usual I was unable to act on it last night, because I'm almost positive she'd get totally freaked out. Or maybe I'm just a wuss.
In a little while I'm going over to Dad's place for mid-afternoon lunch/meal. Tonight another friend is performing in a Jewish choir that they recently formed in town, so that should be interesting. I've never heard Mendelssohn's Elijah before.
