I didn't do much of anything yesterday, mostly because I knew I'd be going out today with a bunch of people. Sure, yesterday I went out with the running group in the morning, but I pretty much didn't leave again except to go looking for Coke, which for some reason I was really craving. At least I got a lot of practicing done.

Like I mentioned, there was a big trip planned to Six Flags America. I met up at Jared & Deb's place, and Alex, Melissa, and Alice were already there. We were meeting Rachelle, Sol, and Cliff at the park*. I'd gotten a bunch of $10 off coupons from the office (admission is like $36), but half the people had bought tickets online, and Rachelle had $12 off coupons, so evidently mine weren't good enough.. =P Alice wanted to go on almost every ride we saw, but we did go on the Batwing and Superman rides first. Those two were probably the best I went on. After that we stopped for food, and almost everyone wanted to go on this one called Shipwreck Falls, but Melissa & I wanted to go on one of the "classic" wooden coasters. We came back to the other ride to discover Shipwreck Falls is one of those drenching splashing rides, so everyone but us got good & soaked. And had time to ride Joker's Jinx, which we didn't. We waited in line for one more ride, The Mind Eraser, which was pretty cool but I think a lot of us were tired of coasters. I know my stomach was. Last thing we did was, of course, the bumper cars, and there were just enough for the nine of us to terrorize each other. It was a really fun time, not oppressively hot, but still pretty warm in the sun. No, we didn't see the old dancing guy in the tuxedo, but we did hear his song incessantly. My brother, if he's reading, probably remembers a trip to Six Flags over Georgia with our cousin, now ten years ago. How the time flies.

*- Yeah, I know I'm breaking my custom of not using real names. I figure it makes no difference to anybody who might be reading anyway.

The very first rollercoaster I ever went on. I went on it like nine years ago, and I think it was very new at the time.

You've probably been around long enough to remember... what was it before Six Flags bought it? Was it Adventure World, or something else?

I'm pretty sure it was Adventure World at the time.

Before it was Adventure World, wasn't it Water World? That's going back a LONG time, probably more than 10 years. Cal Ripken used to be in their TV ads. They were creepy too: they'd show him with a family, but put his face on all of them. You don't want to see a 10-year-old girl with Cal Ripken's features.
