There was a dude sitting on the curb outside my place. I nearly ran over his legs trying to park my car, because I didn't see him sitting in the dark.
Am I supposed to call the police or something?

:( Don't know...if he wasn't being harassing, or wasn't intoxicated...I don't know if there's really much the police can do.

He wouldn't be the first homeless guy I'd found on the street. I don't know about intoxicated, but he seemed like he wouldn't have noticed if I had run over his legs.

Yeah, I've seen a lot around there, too. It's like it's a big city or something. If you're concerned, you could call the non-emergency number for the BPD and talk to someone about it and see what they recommend.

I don't know why I thought of calling the police, because I doubt they would do anything about random homeless guys, considering he wasn't harassing anyone or sitting on private property.

All you can really do is look out for them. We had a homeless guy in Levittown who collected scrap metal and spent the proceeds on cheap booze. Bill was found by a fire company member, passed out on the Amtrak high speed line, behind the firehouse. We called the PD and stood by to yank Bill off the tracks, lest he became sliced and diced, before the PD arrived.
