Evening Oddity
Mar. 11th, 2004 12:03 amTonight I walked up to the neighborhood grocery store, and when I was standing in line to pay, the clerk told the woman in front of me to "be careful out there." So I paused for a minute, then asked if he knew about something specific we should be watching for. He said something about a "runaway horse," but wasn't sure on the specifics. Now, there are ponies pulling produce carts around town, but he didn't think it was one of them.
All I can say is, "if it weren't for my runaway horse, I wouldn't have spent that year in college."
I had to have my lesson tonight because I'm going to a work-related presentation tomorrow. My teacher's teacher was giving a lesson before we showed up, and I was pretty intimidated to be around her. She's probably taught dozens of today's famous performers and hundreds of others. I was worried she'd stick around to observe my lesson, but I think she had to go out of town. I probably had no need to be intimidated, but it was a surprise because in a year and a half of lessons, I'd never seen her until today.
