Not just for him, unfortunately. A lot of people seemed to be out of it last night, or just generally annoyed, myself included. I dislike one of the pieces we're playing so much that I'm considering not even rosining my bow for the first half of the concert. Which, by the way, is still three weeks away, and I just want it to be over. I know that's probably a sign I'm burning out and need to take a break, something I thought wouldn't happen to me.

Eek. I couldn't imagine Jason saying that! He was just annoyed at the general state of things/people?

Well...if you're disliking that piece, I can only imagine that most of the others (with the exception of David) are caring much for it, either, and that can make any rehearsal hell. People get cranky when they're playing things they don't like.

I think it's hard to say whether you're burning out, or just simply don't like this concert. You'd feel close to the same way either way, I think.

Three weeks, then this concert is done. Then you're off for the summer, right? *hugs*

Jason almost never uses language like that in front of us; he behaves as if he's in front of the GBYO. Nothing wrong with that, I suppose. The funny thing about that was, he said it during the Mussorgsky, not the Rouse, and the orchestra's played that before, under him.

GVO's concert is this Friday, then we're supposed to have stuff going on this summer, as in the past. If Bob can get his schedule sorted out in the meantime.

Ah, yeah. Summer stuff is just GVO and then the concert up in Johnstown? I would think if you chose to sit out the summer GVO concert, it wouldn't be a problem, if that's what you needed to do...
