Exodus

So, is anyone out there in LJ-friends-land making the jump to WordPress, Blogger, or one of the LJ clones (IJ, GJ, DJ, JF)?

This is the second time now that an online site of which I've been a part has had some kind of mass exodus.

Oops, that should have said, "online site". I'm not a member of any of the communities, but the fandom/slashers on LJ are leaving en masse. Or at least, threatening to.

Oh, okay. I know there are still goings-on related to that, but I thought maybe people on your FL were leaving because of it, which I haven't seen. (yet)

I have accounts on some of them, but no plans to switch to any of them from LJ to use them.

Oh, and what was the other site of which you were part that made an exodus? SDMB?

Yes, when the board went pay-to-post two or three years ago. Web boards like that don't keep good statistics on number of posters vs. active, so it was hard to tell how much of an exodus there really was. The place is still going, so rumors of its impending demise were (somewhat) exaggerated.

I guess, technically, I'm part of the exodus, since I rarely read or post anymore.

Pay-to-post, feh. I don't think there are any boards I would be on that were pay-to-post. Well, message boards anyway.

An exodus implies you are rarely reading/posting in favor of somewhere else ;)

Oh, and I think I'm going to fly out of Milwaukee to come out there. Finding some decent non-stop fares to BWI, though very limited for soon. Finding stuff for about a month from now for around $122/rt....
