I worked on Nutcracker stuff for about 1.5 hours. I can do that for two more days, until the first dress rehearsal.

I don't think I could work on the Nutcracker for 1.5 straight hours. :-P I'd go . . . well, nutty. Not my favorite piece of music.

You should have seen how much time I spent on Adams. And then how much (i.e. little) good it did.

I need to get comfortable with the Nutcracker stuff because this is the first year moving from second to first, and there's some surprisingly tricky stuff there.

When I was in college, we did the second act. It was tricky. I think I was playing first, but I really don't remember for sure. There are a lot of little finger twisters and quick things that need practice time. I do recall wanting to tear my hair out at the time. :-) Tchaikowsky wrote a lot of stuff I like. The Nutcracker is not among that stuff. :-)

I'm sure you did fine on the Adams - I'd definitely say you're among the most conscientious players in the section. I think Jason would rather have an orchestra of practicers than an orchestra of hotshots!

I'm planning to come back for the February concert. :-) Should be finished my Master's degree by then and able to practice more regularly - yay!
