Last entry about the pigeon, I swear.

Things were getting slow in the office around 4:30, so I grabbed a trash bag and headed out to the parking lot. No, not for that, sickos! I was just going to try to grab it and release it, but I didn't want to catch the avian flu. Sure enough, it was still sitting in the truck bed and watching me. Just on a whim, I picked up part of the bungee cord mesh it was sitting on and jostled it around a lot. And what do you know, but the pigeon wasn't injured, just really dumb, since it flew off to the roof of my office building. When I left about 45 minutes later, it appeared to be sitting in the same place on the roof. I'll look to see if it's still there tomorrow morning.

I think it just liked your company.

I'm laughing out loud over here. It's either the world's stupidest pigeon or you've got a new pet. Albeit one of the "flying rat" variety. I recommend you feed it while wearing some heavy gloves.

Well, perhaps it did like your company, but I still say there must've been something wrong with it . . . do you think it was stuck in the mesh? VERY weird. At the least, it can't have eaten or drunk in about three days, so I expect it is very weak.

Oops . . .

Ah. No problem, Mrs. Anonymous.

No, it definitely wasn't stuck; the bird did get moved around in the course of two days every time I went over big bumps. It was always sitting on top of the mesh, too.

Strange bird. Very strange bird.

Not the same thing . . . but I did end up with a cicada impaled on my car's antenna in 2004, when we had the bumper crop. It was there for weeks before it finally disintegrated and fell off. I took pictures of it. I wonder if I can still find them? :-) I never did figure out how he could've gotten there.
