I forgot to mention this about Sunday's concert. I was hanging out in the main hall before the show started with my violin (and in tuxedo), looking for Mom. This woman came up to me and seemed quite convinced that I was one of the headlining performers, John Sommers, writer of "In the Grand Way" and "Thank God I'm a Country Boy". I politely informed her that no, I wasn't him, he has about thirty years on me, and showed her where I was in the picture on the CD. That is, back in the orchestra.
When I ran into John backstage and told him, he laughed: "We're a couple of good-looking guys, huh?"

Informal poll on the holiday: Do people in others' offices come to work in costume? A few people here did that back when I first started, but by the next year it'd dwindled to no one. Is this common now, or do other people just like to have more fun?

I saw one woman in the elevator at lunch who had devil horns on a hairband. And I saw someone else wearing something in pumpkin orange. But that's it. I guess I could have worn my Indiana Jones fedora and bullwhip to work today, but that would have just been silly.

I didn't even know you had these things. What else have you got?

All that, plus a satchel that I bought at a thrift shop on Saturday afternoon. Here's what the finished product looked like. I got several compliments on it. Next time, I'll have a golden idol too.

Bullwhip? What? *blink*

*hide*

I'm not going to ask why you have one. I'm just going to smile and back away slowly. ;)

There is apparently a costume competition going on with our marketing folks, and there's a party with a costume contest that starts at 3. Having said that, I've probably seen about 3 or 4 people dressed up so far. (that's out of hundreds, not that I've seen everyone today)

There are quite a few people wearing some sort of orange or black though. I have ghost earrings, and that's it. I've never been big on Halloween.

You are certainly very good-looking indeed. I don't know about this John Sommers guy... *goes to look* Hrm, he's not bad looking, but not nearly as handsome as you are.

I used to dress up for Halloween at work all the time. I have a goth witch outfit that creeps people out, heh-heh. Most places I've worked, a lot of people do dress up. I have no idea if people at P+ were dressed up today or not. It tended to keep the mood light on Halloween.

You work at a fairly small company though, right? That could explain why you have a bit more of a lack of dressing up.

Yeah, only about 30 people. And our corporate parent basically tells us we can't have any sort of parties during office hours, but I don't know if that extends to Halloween.

A lot of people dressed up at the hospital today. (I didn't).

What might you have dressed up as?
