Customization
Sep. 28th, 2006 11:43 amExpressive: Urban Sunset sure is pretty. That must be why all the cool people I know are using it for their layout/theme. But man, is it a pain in the ass to customize. There are at least five separate and layered style sheets to control the positioning and appearance, and the class naming scheme doesn't make any sense at first. It took me several hours to figure out what to change and where, but I changed the time and date stamps to something unusual, and made an entry footer that matches the ones in the sidebar.

Date: 2006-09-28 05:12 pm (UTC)That's interesting about the "ease of use"; some of the layouts have dozens of wizard-type customizations. Not Expressive, though. Besides some basics, I think one isn't supposed to mess too much with Expressive. Why else would they have 70+ themes to choose from?
