Sep. 1st, 2006 01:37 pmYay for tropical storms making it rain all through a 3-day weekend. Not like I had anything planned anyway.
And now for some random Maryland news: Maryland Senate Candidate Arrested
What was really funny was watching the story on TV (link on the page). The police were trying to block the cameras, but when they were trying to lead Lichtman away, you could hear someone saying, "Go limp, Allan! Lie down!" The candidate's tirade about a "police state" is noteworthy, but not quite at Mel Gibson-level.
And now for some random Maryland news: Maryland Senate Candidate Arrested
[...]U.S. Senate candidate Allan Lichtman was arrested Thursday night as he protested not being invited to a debate on Maryland Public Television. [...] Lichtman and two other Democratic senate candidates, Josh Rales and Dennis Rasmussen, protested outside the MPT building because they were not invited to participate in the debate sponsored by the League of Women Voters. Their poll numbers did not reach the 15 percent threshold set by the league.

Date: 2006-09-01 07:03 pm (UTC)I think he's confusing public television for public property. I don't think that's an accurate assumption, is it?
It really just made him look like an idiot. And I think his wife was smoking something.
I understand the reason for wanting to protest, but at a certain point, it just makes you look bad and doesn't accomplish anything.
I giggled at the "Lie down! Lie down!" bit.
