I had an eye doctor appointment for 3:00 today, and since I'd be in the area, I also called the violin shop to see if I could try out some new bows. So, it seems that I might not need to blow my tax refund here after all, as I couldn't find a bow for what I wanted to spend. Indeed, I couldn't even tell Roger (the luthier) what it was about my current bow that I wasn't satisfied with. That would lead me to believe the deficiency is in the player/technique, not the equipment. He did let me try a few carbon fiber bows, but they didn't really live up to the hype.
Then it was off to the eye doctor. After close to 20 years of RGP lenses, I put in an order for soft contacts. Should prove interesting.
I walked around a bit and took some pictures of the flowering trees before they all blow away. I'm thinking of signing up for a Flickr account, since everyone else seems to use it, and ImageStation is pretty much useless for hot-linking.

Date: 2006-04-05 12:56 pm (UTC)The contact thing is going to be an experiment, since I really can't wear my current contacts any more. Also, the doctor told me not to try. I'll still have a week between when the contacts come in and I have to go away.
