Weekend & Concert
Mar. 6th, 2006 02:01 pm- Got a resolution on the issue of my student. I should have remembered that Katie is, by her admission, really scatterbrained. We spoke for a while yesterday, and while fortunately, there are no hard feelings, I do seem to be out of the teaching business for a while.
- I should remember how much the Saturday morning running club sucks during the winter. If it will be as warm as it's supposed to be, maybe this weekend will be better.
- While I was in the area, I finally found Baltimore Coffee and visited the massive Wegmans. It's much too far to be a viable shopping option for me, though.
- There's a reason I didn't send out a big e-mail for Saturday night's concert. We just didn't have enough rehearsal time for people to be comfortable with the music. Apparently some of the musicians didn't like Francis, our new assistant conductor, but even I was surprised at the level of criticism directed at him (behind his back, of course). I really wasn't happy with my own performance, especially given the amount of time I'd spent practicing the music. Anyone who's been reading my practice logs would know how much time that was.
- Did nothing yesterday. Didn't even shower until the afternoon, although that was because some guys came over to paint my bathroom ceiling and re-install the vent fan. That's why I washed the floor, but it still has some weird residue on it.
