Happy September
Sep. 1st, 2005 08:00 amI really really didn't want to make an entry complaining about the gas prices. Everyone already knows how bad it is, but it's anyone's guess how bad it's going to get. I knew I should have filled up yesterday morning before things got bad, but for whatever reason, I didn't. On the way home last night I had about a third of a tank left. Most of the stations were over $3/gal., and the one I saw that wasn't was just closed. By the time I got home, I had around a quarter tank left, which I'd estimated would be enough to get me to work today, but if there was by some chance, no gas available today, I'd be unable to get home. I spent most of the evening trying to figure out what sort of conversations I'd have with my boss.
Fortunately, I pass a lot of stations on the way in, and many of them were still below $3. So, somehow I managed to fill the tank at the low low price of $2.80/gal. However, one tank is enough to last me a week on average. Don't ask me what I'm going to do if things do get really bad.
