More Concert Stuff
Jun. 22nd, 2005 11:14 amSince I know people never get tired of reading about my performances, there're more going on. Tonight is the first concert in the Greenspring Valley Orchestra's summer series at Villa Julie College and my first performance with them. I have no idea how it's going to go, because the people are still pretty inexperienced, but I hold out some hope it'll be fine.
One dumb thing about it: the director e-mailed us a reminder that the dress is short-sleeve white shirts and black pants/skirts. At the moment, I only own a long-sleeve shirt and was planning to wear that, because it shouldn't be too hot. I'll be damned if I'm going to go out and buy another white shirt just for tonight.
What I'm really excited about, however, is the response I got yesterday. The manager of the orchestra my mom plays in back home e-mailed me to say "they'd love to have me join them" for the Fourth of July concert. So, I'll be going home next Thursday for the rehearsal and staying until after the concert. It's exciting to me because it'll be my first time playing with the group as an actual adult. The last time I played with them, it was 10+ years ago, and as a member of the Youth Orchestra in a "side-by-side" sort of thing (where I sat next to a former teacher). My mom has played in the group for 20+ years, and my brother played for 2(?) years when he was in high school, so now it's my turn.
