Not the best start to the week
Apr. 4th, 2005 10:32 amI had a party to go to Saturday night, hosted by two college friends of mine. They're having their first child in a few months (September, to be exact) and decided to throw a little party while they still had time and energy. I ended up getting back pretty late and went straight to bed. I set my alarm for 11:00, thinking that it would be plenty of time to get some breakfast and whatever, before heading out to the ballet orchestra rehearsal at 1:00.
Well, you can probably predict what happened. I woke up at 11:00, showered, and turned on the Weather Channel, only to be reminded that it was actually 12:30. Did I mention that the rehearsal was in Ellicott City, 30-40 minutes from me? So I was only a little late, but didn't miss much, and the director was happy to see me, since I hadn't told him definitively whether I'd play or not. We got through almost half of the score before running out of time. I was worried I'd be in over my head again, but I don't think it'll be too bad.
Now this morning, I was so tired when my alarm went off (at the correct time) that I almost went back to sleep. That would have been a bad thing, because they'd have towed my car off the street. I woke up enough to pack food for breakfast and lunch, and even a change of clothes and my violin for tonight's rehearsal, but neglected to grab my cell phone. That doesn't really matter, no one usually calls on Mondays anyway.
