"Nice Guys"

Oh look! Yet another Pit thread on women vs. so-called "nice guys", cleverly titled "In which I pit nice guys". I guess we were about due, it's been, what, six months since the last one. Like all the rest, this one has multiple attempts to define "nice guy", what it is men & women really want, generalizations that despite careful couching, are still generalizations; many personal anecdotes that refute the non-generalizations, etc. I'm pretty sick of the whole deal, myself.

So why am I writing about it here and not submitting it to sdmbconfess or trainwreckspot? Mostly to express my relief at finally not fitting into the "nice guy" definitions many have put forth anymore. Sure, I used to, but that was mostly back in my HS and early college days. And it took a while to get back into the swing of things. I know that some of the things I've talked about here can make me sound like a hopeless case, but I like to think I have a better read on my situations now and can avoid the usual pitfalls.

So I'll see you all later. I've got a date tonight! =D

I don't think you're a stereotypical 'nice guy', but you are a really great guy. Not a doormat guy like the 'nice guy' label suggests.
