I was going to be a good boy this morning, by getting up and going to the running club. Instead, I had a lot of trouble falling asleep last night, woke up at about 8:00 still tired, and it's freaking raining outside. So, I went back to dozing for another hour and a half or so. I was really intending to make more of an effort to stay in shape, but it looks like that's going to have to wait another week. Plus, I was feeling pretty good last night (hardly sick anymore), but that must have been the medicine because I'm still kind of stuffy today. Looks like it'll be one of those lazy days where I say I'm going to radically clean up around here, then get sidetracked into wasting most of the day.
I went to the Greenspring Valley Orchestra concert last night, and well, it wasn't quite what I was expecting. A number of the string players look inexperienced. Even more of them just looked lost, or like they were "air-bowing". Still, the musicians I talked to all said they'd be happy to have me. What's funny is that the concertmistress was subbing in the Philharmonia concert last weekend, and I had no idea who she was! We had a good laugh over that, especially me saying, "I thought you looked familiar!" She said the rehearsals were productive, people were respectful, and they even had sectionals, which is more than I can say about the Philharmonia. Their summer series will start in about 3 weeks, so I'll give it a try, even if it won't be much of a challenge.
