Nutcracker Update
Dec. 17th, 2004 04:20 pmThis'll probably be my last update for a while, maybe until Sunday morning. Last night we had our first full run-through of the Nutcracker with dancers and all. It's one of those times when I wish I had eyes in another part of my head so I could watch the dancers and the conductor at the same time. From what I can see, it looks like it'll be a pretty good production (for a community, non-professional company). However, there's another 3-hour rehearsal tonight, then a 2:30 and 7:30 performance tomorrow, and another Sunday afternoon. If anyone happens to be interested, just show up at the Rouse theater in Columbia before the performances, because they apparently don't answer their office phone.
Notice how I haven't mentioned shopping for anyone yet this year? Looks like there may not be any for me this year. It's easy to get stuff for my brother off his wishlist, and I think I know what I can get my mom, but my dad is always impossible to buy for. Last year I got him & my stepmother a gift certificate to a restaurant, suitable for, say, an anniversary dinner, but they recently confessed that it still hadn't been spent. Oh well, I guess it is the thought that counts.
