av8rmike: Futurama's Bender in Jeffries tube, text: I'm done reconfoobling the energymotron (Default)
Copied from the mass e-mailing I sent out earlier:

By now I don't think there's anyone who I haven't told that I'm playing violin in two separate orchestras in the area. The concerts are coming up soon, and as luck would have it, two of them are on the same weekend! Looks like I'll get plenty of wear out of my black & white clothes.
So here's all the relevant information I can think of:

The Columbia Orchestra
Saturday, October 23 at 7:30 PM
Jim Rouse Theatre, Wilde Like HS, Columbia

On the program:

"Coriolan" Overture by Beethoven
"Der Schwanendrehrer" by Paul Hindemith, with BSO violist Peter Minkler
Symphony fantastique by Hector Berlioz

also featuring pre-concert discussion with Bill Scanlan Murphy
more information, including directions and ticket prices at www.columbiaorchestra.org

The Baltimore Philharmonia Orchestra
Sunday, October 17 at 3:00 PM
Loch Raven HS Auditorium, Baltimore

On the program (among others):

"Ruins of Athens" Overture & Turkish March by Beethoven
"Royal Hunt & Storm" by Berlioz
"Norma" Overture by Bellini
Symphony No. 9 in C major, "The Great" by Franz Schubert
"Invitation to the Dance" by Weber

Same program again on Sunday, October 24, 3:00
at St. Anthony of Padua Church
4414 Frankford Ave, which is in East Baltimore off Belair Rd.

Free admission and parking both days.

Feel free to let me know if you're planning to attend so I'll know to look for you afterwards, or if there are any questions.

-Mike
