Huh. I thought that LJ hadn't made it a policy to purge inactive accounts, but it looks like I was wrong, as I've now lost two friends. Do any of the SDMB'ers out there know what became of [livejournal.com profile] gobear? He was always one of the nicest people to talk to at Fests.

He's on Facebook, and sent us a hello awhile back. He down't respond to emails or messages through Facebook though. I send invitations each time we have a party.

He most likely deleted it himself; if you try to go to his journal, it shows as deleted, not purged, and I'm pretty sure that LJ still has the policy of not purging accounts simply for inactivity.

Ah, so still being reclusive then. Thanks!

You might be right about that; however, the reason I phrased it as I did was because my other friend's account was marked as deleted, but she always told me she didn't even know her password to log in. I guess it doesn't make much difference either way: deleted is deleted.
