Eye Care

My regular pair of glasses broke on Saturday afternoon... maybe it was one too many unscheduled trips to the floor, but one of the earpieces broke off inside the springy part. So, it can't be fixed; I have to get new frames. Well, maybe I could super-glue them back together, but they still won't be angled right. I've been needing an excuse to wear my contacts more anyway.

It makes me wonder what I'd do if I didn't have the contacts to wear, stumble around blindly until I could get the first appointment with a new optometrist? I had to schedule an exam because I don't have a current prescription. Does everyone carry theirs around with them?

Finally, wearing contacts all day and staring into a computer screen is never a good combination. However, I've tried, but I just CAN'T do eye drops. The last few times I tried, I blinked so hard my contacts came out. Annoying, to say the least.

See, why do you need an excuse to wear your contacts more, when you get so uncomfortable wearing them after a while? It's one thing to wear them for short periods of time every now and again, but trying to wear them all the time, just making yourself uncomfortable... what's the point? Especially if you can't do eyedrops!

Did you make yourself an appointment?

I've always liked better the way I look without glasses than with. Also, I have to wear something now so that I can see!

Yeah, appointment is next Wednesday.

I like how you look both with your glasses, and without your glasses. So there. ;)

You could bring your prescription out here and I can take you where I went to get my glasses...they always do the "get two complete sets of glasses for $X" thing...and it might be useful to have a backup pair. Or, you could just not worry about it, and go wherever you want. ;) Where did you end up getting an appointment?

Eyedrops were a pain for me, too. Don't know if you tried it, but tilt your head back all the way, look straight up, hold your lower lid down a bit, and drop them right into your eye. Works for me.
