Usually, although sometimes they're canonically bi (Torchwood) or gay (Queer as Folk).... There's been a lot of discussion and research done about why we do what we do, but a lot of it has to do with the lack of strong female characters.

Yeah, I can understand Jack Harkness fic. It's the "Kirk/Spock/whatever" stuff I don't get, that I saw and sparked this entry.
